Kamal Haasan Turns Narrator For PS-2 Intro Teaser

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan narrates the story of PS-1 in the intro teaser, the two-minute video is a recap of the highlights of Ponniyin Selvan part 1 and also gives an introduction the what's waiting for the fans in the much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan 2.

The two part epic saga stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban and Lal.

The music was composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography by Ravi Varman, editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Thota Tharani.

PS-1 chronicled the  early life of Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman, who would become the renowned emperor Rajaraja I.

In the film, Vandiyathevan sets out to cross the Chola land to deliver a message from the crown prince Aditha Karikalan. Meanwhile, Kundavai attempts to establish political peace as vassals and petty chieftains plot against the throne. The second part is the continuation of the story.

Produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film is slated for 28th April 2023 release.
