The score of 208 is the first high score ever made by a single player against New Zealand. Shubhman Gill did it with in just 149 Balls with 19 fours and 9 Sixes – drive the ball in every corner of the Ground in Hyderabad. The capital city of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana witnessed a high-voltage ODI against New Zealand left the viewers into a breathless situation.
By winning the toss and elected batting first, India’s opener batsman Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill gave India a strong start, but lose the wicket of Rohit at the score of 60. Rohit contributed 34 runs. Suryakumar 31 and Hardik Pandya 28 tried to make the partnership stronger, but couldn’t stand stronger. India made total 349 in 50 Overs with the 208 of Gill.
New Zealand’s starting was not all good as the team lost his 1st wicket of Conway at 28. With the match, team lost 6 wickets on 131 and seemed to surrender around 200 runs. But, Bracebell changed the entire match by hitting storming 140 in just 78 balls. With the support of Saintern (57) he made the match exciting and scored 337 in 49.2 overs. It was the time, when match seemed to go in favor of New Zealand. The Indian bowlers were looking helpless, when Bracebell made a ton by hitting 10 Sixes and 12 Fours.
By coming on 6th Number in the team, he made every effort to get the match out of the India’s control. Indian Bowlers donated runs without any line and length of the ball in front of Bracebell.
However, with the over of Hardik, India made New Zealand to stay on back and lost the match by 12 runs only. In the series, India has made the lead of 1-0.
