Filmmaker and producer Aanand L Rai and actor Ayushmann Khurrana has earlier collaborated on Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, both the movies dealt with sensitive and taboo subjects with a twist, and the duo is back with An Action Hero, which is yet another twisted tale about murder, chase, and anti-heroes.

Aanand L Rai was interacting with NewsHelpline during a press-meet to promote An Action Hero, and talking about opting for Ayushmann Khurrana, he sadi, “I think it is practice for me and my team, every time we have a difficult script, we approach Ayushmann Khurrana to do it. I think he is the only one who has guts to approach and like a twisted story, and I don’t know why he likes such stories, but he does”

“We started off with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and now we’re doing An Action Hero, this is different genre, yes, it is an action film but with a twist. And due to this twist, we needed Ayushmann Khurrana” added Rai.

An Action Hero is suspense thriller, helmed by Anirudh Iyer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideeep Ahlawat in the lead roles.

Bankrolled by Colour Yellow Production and T-Series, the film is slated for 9thDecember 2022 release.
