 Diva Mallika Sherawat, who is making her comeback of sorts with RK/Rkay says that biggest challenge for her was to work with Rajat Kapoor, as he is a flawless actor.

Mallika Sherawat was interacting with NewsHelpline during a press-meet for RK/Rkay, which is written and directed by Rajat Kapoor, also starring himself with Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey and Manu Rishi Chadha in the lead roles. 

Talking about movie and challenging aspect of the comic caper with satire, Mallika said, “Biggest challenge was that Rajat Kapoor had casted me in his film, so I had to be certain that I really needed to up my acting game, second challenge was not to make my character of Gulabo, somewhat

caricaturist, because she is the representation of all the actress from 50’s and 60’s. So, we had to make the character believable with all the nuances of all those actresses in the character”

“Rajat Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey are such an amazing and flawless actor, it is not funny. I mean these two would do the scene effortlessly, and I would be a nervous wreck performing Infront of them” added Mallika. 

Talking about her character and inspiration it draws from 50’s heroines, Mallika said, “Gulabo has been the best role of career till now, she is inspired from all the actress of 50’s and 60’s, such as Waheeda Rahman, Meena Kumari, Nargis, so come to the theaters will your entire family and enjoy my movie RK/Rkay” 

The film has already been screened and appreciated at several international festivals including Shanghai International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival and premiered in US 14 May 2021 and scheduled to be released theatrically in India on 22 July 2022
