Vidya Balan reveals Bollywood's  leading stars shy away from portraying gay roles

Renowned Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is an open vocalist and never shy to give her opinion on any topic. Recently in a media Interaction, The actress shared her views on the reluctance of leading stars in the industry, to portray gay characters on screen. The actress doing a comparison with Malayalam Star Mammootty's role in Kaathal: The Core. Vidya Balan highlighted the societal landscapes between Kerala and Bollywood. She noted the more acceptance of and openness Kerala audience just because of such narratives accrediting it to a more literate and receptive demography. 

Vidya Balan talks about the Bollywood stars 

Vidya said That We have to accept that It is a more literature and open Audience in Kerala. And That is a great difference. She said that the texture of the lowest common denominator is very different in Kerala. She added that she is not taking away from Mammootty that he did but maybe it's a bit easier there. It is a reflection of his society. She thought they had to be more open to something like this. Vidya said the People of Kerala worship them, especially the male superstars. So it is that much more credible that he went ahead and did it. According to Actress, he did not think it'd be a reflection of her machismo. He is a much more secure actor. Vidya said when I watched The film Kaathai: The Core, I messaged Dulquer Salmaan to convey my complements to his superstar father For the Biggest star of Malayalam cinema to not only act in it but also produce it. She said she doesn't think there is a bigger show of acceptance or support to the community, than opening other's minds to the same. Unfortunately, She doesn't think any of our Hindi stars would be able to do a film like Kaathal”
