Who was Syed Abdul Rahim

Syed Abdul Rahim was a legend of India. He was the coach of the Indian Football team from 1950 to 1963. It was that time When India won two Asian gold medals in 1951 and 1962. Syed Abdul Rahim is determined for India's victory in the Asian Games.

Syed Abdul Rahim was born in Hyderabad, on 17 August 1909. Rahim completed his education at Osmaniya University and played Football for his University team. He is also a teacher and taught in many schools like Urdu Sharif School, and Chaderghat High School. Rahim earned a diploma in Football and became a professional Football player. He also led the Hyderabad Football Association from 1943 until his death.

Rahim's determination towards India's Team victory

In 1950. Saiyed Abdul Rahim was the coach of the Hyderabad Football team. He led them to five consecutive Rovers Cup victories and four Durand Cup wins. In 1951, India won the Asian Games Gold Medal, defeating Iran. Rahim taught the 4-2-4 formation, ahead of its adoption by Brazil in the 1958 and 1962 World Cups, and under his leadership, India finished fourth at the 1956 Summer Olympics.

Rahim's life was more inspiring as Rahim achieved more success in a short time and limited resources. There are no more resources for him and his team. The most important is that the infrastructure of this time for football is not as strong as today. With minimal resources and minimal support, Rahim and his teams achieved outstanding success.
