Glenn Maxwell is known for his explosive and innovative shot making in cricket’s short forms.

He first gained worldwide fame in 2013 when, just six months after his international debut, he earned a million-dollar contract from Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians. Before his IPL adventure, Maxwell earned his Test debut on Australia’s disastrous tour of India, taking seven wickets but failing to fire with the bat in his two Tests.

The big-hitting all-rounder played just three matches as Mumbai stormed to the IPL title, but he found form during Australia’s ODI tour of India in late 2013.

The Victorian posted scores of 31, 53, 3, 92, 9 and 60 in six matches, scoring 172 of his 248 runs in boundaries. He continued his hot form during the Australian summer, highlighted by a remarkable feat in the Sheffield Shield clash against NSW at the SCG.

Walking to the crease with Victoria reeling at 6-9, Maxwell posted a blistering 127 from 102 balls to follow up his innings of 94 in the first innings.

Having switched to Kings Punjab XI, he then justified the hype surrounding him in the 2014 edition of the IPL, finishing the series third on the run-scorers list.

Maxwell was also a member of the winning ICC 2015 World Cup team, memorably scoring his maiden ODI century against Sri Lanka at the SCG.

In September 2016, Maxwell slammed a career-best unbeaten 145 from 65 balls, including nine sixes, against Sri Lanka in a Twenty20 international in Pallekele.

A combination of Maxwell's smart bowling, innovative shot making and acrobatic fielding, forms a an excellent package for any short formatted game.
