Kashmir: At Least five persons involving ex senior officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) has been sent to 10 years of jail by special court for sexually assaulting minor girl in year 2006 in Srinagar.

Former BSF deputy inspector general KC Padhi and ex deputy superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Mohammad Ashraf Mir was also charged by CBI in Chandigarh with Rs 1 lakh each.
J&K natives Shabbir Ahmed Laway, Masud Ahmed, Shabbir Ahmed Langhoo were charged with Rs 50,000.
“A victim of rape inevitably suffers acute trauma. Rape itself brings enormous shame to the victim,” Judge Geetanjali Goel affirmed.

Later, the case was handed over to Central Beaurau of Investigation from the state police in May 2006. There were four victims involved in the matter but among those four victims, three of them reverted on their report during trial. The other victim was kept in custody for further interrogation.
