The disaster that took place on Sunday 5th January 2020 at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has shaken the nation again. Disturbing photos and videos of the breakout have been making the rounds on the internet. Some masked scoundrels pelted stones, vandalized property, and even injured JNU, students, teachers and even president Aishe Ghosh of the university.
Several Bollywood celebrities including Swara Bhasker, Shabana Azmi, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Taapsee Pannu, along with filmmakers Aparna Sen and Hansal Mehta condemned the violence and urged Delhi Police to intervene. They reacted to the violence through the social media platform.
The latest to join the bandwagon is 'Article 15' actor Ayushmann Khurrana. He took to his Twitter handle and shared an inspirational poem on India's democracy. The poem shared by the actor has been penned by Ayushmann himself, who has a flair for writing. His poem reads,
"इंसानियत से बड़ा कुछ नहीं
धर्म नहीं, सियासत नहीं.
धन नहीं, विरासत नहीं.
किसी की हो सोच नई, हो अलग तो अलग सही,
पर तुझे उस सोच को नोचने का हक़ नहीं,
यही भारत का लोकतंत्र है,
और इसमें किसी को शक़ नहीं।
He penned this poem in context to the violence that took place in Delhi's JNU. Through his note, he has conveyed how no one can change the thought of the citizen and that is what Indian democracy is all about.
Ashutosh will be seen in the upcoming movie ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, directed by Hitesh Kewalya, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Manu Rishi Chadha as lead characters. Other popular actors who are roped in for the movie are Maanvi Gagroo and Bhumi Pednekar.
