In Sep 1969 Chetan played his debut test match against New Zealand. In the starting of the match he not score a single run for the first 25 minutes, but then suddenly opened the account with two fours and fours in successive balls.

In his Test career, Chauhan scored 2084 runs in 40 matches at an average of 31.57, including 16 half-centuries. At the same time, in ODIs, he scored 153 runs at an average of 21.86 in 7 matches.

This former cricketer played 179 matches in his first-class career, in which he scored 11,143 runs. During this time he scored 21 centuries and 59 half-centuries. But he did not get a single century in his international career.

Chetan Chauhan is the world's first cricketer to score 2,000 runs without a century in Test cricket. For years, they have earned this unique record. Warne scored 3184 runs in his Test career by playing 145 matches, during which he could not even make any century.
