Beautiful Bali: place of islands, Exotic temples, palaces and ancient culture
Bali is a favorite destination for many people around the world and it's easy to see why! From its list of unending idyllic beaches, captivating spiritual energy, terraced rice fields and exotic sunsets. There is so much to see and experience on this magnificent island paradise!
We stayed at Grand Zuri Kuta, a 4 star hotel that located in the heart of Kuta area that provide easy access to Kuta Beach, Seminyak, Legian and Denpasar area. Since we reached little early of the checkin time in hotel, we have decided to go and visit Kuta beach.
Here one can find a huge Market, budget to mid-range eats, bars and clubs, shopping options- Discovery shopping Mall.
After lunch Our first stop was Uluwatu Temple – the sea temple. There are lots of monkeys here so exercise the usual caution you would with monkeys.
Uluwatu Temple is a top a cliff with absolutely stunning views of the crashing waves below. The temple itself is relatively small and most of it is inaccessible so when you arrive, you arrive mostly for the views.
It is worth noting that this is, however, an important religious temple for the island.
In addition to a marvelous location, in the evenings in front of the entrance to the temple you can see the Kecak dance performance. During this dance, hundreds of men in black and white sarongs, sitting in a lotus position and raising their hands, say monotonously "ke-cak-ke-cak". Men are sitting around the platform on which the dancers, in the light of the lamp, tell the story of Rama and Sita.
Day-2 started with one of exciting events of this trip and it is water sports at Kuta Beach. The place was too crowded even at 10am in the morning but still you will not have to wait for very long. Flying fish was my favourite of all the water sports
Our lunch started pretty well @Gateway of India, Kuta, Bali. Surprised!! yes too. There were pics of our late PM Atal Bihari , Band of Boys etc.
After lunch, we hopped back into the car hoping to make it to Tanah Lot rock formation and home to Tanah Lot Temple. The sunsets here are said to be quite epic and we figured it was the best way to finish off our evening in Bali. After a quick jaunt around Tanah Lot, we settled down to watch the sunset.
Day-3 Without a doubt, there are many beautiful waterfalls in Bali worth visiting. We have decided to visit 2 most attractive waterfalls of Bali- Tukad Cepung- Tegunungan waterfall, close to UBUD.
The stunning view of Tukad Cepung is like no other- it's one of Bali hidden gems. No Bali waterfall compares to the breathtaking beams of light entering a cave opening, shining on the streams of a cascading waterfall.
After spending quality time at Cepung, our next stop was Tegunungan waterfall. Though it was pretty busy, but we still loved our experience and especially swimming in the waterfall and feeling its power!
On the way down you'll pass a few typical Bali photo spots, as well as Baby Tegenungan Waterfall, which doesn't have much on its big brother. Although again, it makes for a cosy photo opportunity or a place to quickly cool off!
Then comes the big boy! :D The view is amazing. Bali swing, bamboo bridge ,Bali photo spots are some of the major attraction of this place.
In evening we have explored market in Kuta and have done shoppinggg :) and have decided to sneak in a quick massage ;)
Day-4 On our penultimate day in Bali, we started with Barong dance on the way to Kintamani. We have enjoyed traditional Balinese lunch in Kintamnai with Mount Batur Volcano and Lake Batur view and believe me it was amazing. There are some great silver jewellery shops in UBUD and Most items are hand made and good quality. I also bought some lovely silver jewellery . UBUD is also famous for LUWAK coffee aka poop coffee :P which is one of the most expensive coffees in the world..must try and buy !!!
This trip to Bali was everything I'd hoped for and more – we'd seen some amazing sight, eaten so many delicious meals, swam at waterfalls, danced the night away, soaked up sunshine at the beach and so much more and yet would happily return to this island in an instant to do it all over again.
And that was it next morning– breakfast, massage and farewell Bali.
