The Enforcement Directorate has claimed to have reached Robert Vadra's raised money to buy an Anonymous property in London. According to a senior ED official who inquired from Vadra for three days, the London-based residence (Address - 12, Brianston Square) was purchased from a brokerage given by the Korean company Samsung Engineering. The brokerage was given in lieu of getting the contract for construction related to the SEZ of ONGC, which was built in Dahej, Gujarat. ED is now investigating this contract.
A senior ED official said that Samsung Engineering got contracts for the SEZ created in Dahej in December 2008. After six months, on June 13, 2009, Samsung gave Sanjay Bhandari's company Santech 49.9 lakh dollars (according to the exchange rate at approximately 23.50 crore rupees). Sanjay Bhandari later transferred about 19 lakh pounds (according to the then exchange rate, about 15 crore rupees) in a company called Vortex.
ED claims that this money was used to purchase property of Brianston Square, 12. In 2010, Bhandari's relative Sumit Chadha was asking for permission by sending an email to Vadra to repair the property. Not only that, later in an email, Sumit Chadha had also asked for arrangement for money for repairing, on which Vadra gave the assurance to Manoj Arora for it. About 45 lakh rupees were spent on repair.
