Go Air Flight number G8-101 collided with bird on Thursday at around 8:30 am. The incident witnessed loss of 5 crore rupees while plane was going from Kolkata to Port blair.

Just after few minutes, Pilot observed shivering in right side of the engine. About 160 passengers were travelling in this plane. Therefore pilot decided to take back flight to the Kolkata Airport. Air Traffic Control said that, “ some mishappening was observed in the flight after it’s take off and the reason behind this was collision with bird. They further told that due to the communication error we was unable to contact with pilot and hence we was unable to scan the flight. Later on Go Air cancelled this flight and apologized to it’s passengers for the inconvenience.

Bird damaged 6 engine blades. This loss is close to Rs 5 crore. In March, the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) issued an order to immediately remove 11 planes. There are 3 aircraft in removed planes. Apart from this, 8 aircraft were of Indigo Airlines. Go Air has 13 Airbus 320 Neo aircraft, 3 of these have been grounded.
