Four militants, including the head of the Islamic State Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK), were killed during a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district today, police said.
In this incident a Jawan was martyred and many civilians were injured. According to a report, 3-4 more terrorists being hidden in this area.
"Two more bodies of terrorists recovered, taking total number to 4," Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid wrote on Twitter. He identified the other slain militants as Majid Manzoor Dar from Talangam Awantipora, Ashraf Itoo from Hatigam Srigufwara and Adil Hassan Mir from Sheipora Srigufwara.

He said that during the combing operation the terrorists started firing on the security forces. In response, the soldiers also fired. The official said that the firing is still on.
He said that youth near the encounter site started pelting stones on security forces, after which the clashes started. Security forces used force on protesters, in which many civilians including a policeman were injured.

Internet service has been discontinued in Srinagar and Anantnag due to the encounter. After the end of the cesfire in the state, the security forces personnel are continuously operating against the terrorists.
