However, after a while, petroleum company said that it is a technical flaw and price fuel has been reduced by one penny. After that, people fiercely criticized it on Twitter. Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that "Dear PM, You've cut the price of Petrol and Diesel today by 1 paisa. ONE paisa!?? If this is your idea of a prank, it's childish and in poor taste," A ONE paisa cut is not a suitable response to the #FuelChallenge I threw you last week," he added.

A user issued a photograph of a coin long gone 5 paise coin, saying "My savings today after filling 5 litres of petrol". Another user said that I am going to invest in it now in a mutual fund. Politicians also reacted to social media about petrol prices.
