How gambling has infused Bollywood

Life is a gamble from the day we are born till we die. Every day, every moment we make decisions which are mostly gambling as sometimes our decisions go right and we win, sometimes go wrong and we lose.

Some of famous quotes are:

“Sometimes you have to risk life, in order to live, and gamble death, to sacrifice life.” ~ Unknown

Life is a gamble. You can get hurt, but people die in plane crashes, lose their arms and legs in car accidents; people die every day. Same with fighters: some die, some get hurt, some go on. You just don't let yourself believe it will happen to you. ~ Muhammad Ali

Gambling is a fascinating game which comes with a high-risk but high reward lifestyle. Gambling is always a hot topic for movie making. Hollywood has made lots of movies about gambling, few of them were very much impactful from an audience perspective like The Sting, The Gambler, Molly’s Game, Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Thirteen, Casino Royale, Casino, Croupier, The color of money and many more.

Casino is an exciting theme and when it comes to Bollywood movies it is presented in such a royal way that people like it too much. Even though You do not need to like “gambling” but the way Bollywood movies have picturised casinos, you will end up loving it.

Although Hollywood has made great movies in Gambling, however Bollywood is not untouched with this genre and has made such tremendous movies which won the audience heart.

Despite the fact that gambling in India is not much, there are still a few good gambling movies made in Bollywood that have become very popular. The very best ones are:

Teen Patti (2010) Cast - Amithabh Bacchan, Madhvan, Shradha Kapoor.

Striker (2010) Cast -  Siddharth

Gambler (1971) Cast - Dev Anand, Shatrughan Sinha

Jannat (2008) Cast - Emraan Hashmi, Sonal Chauhan

The Great Gambler (1979) Cast - Amithabh Bacchan, Zeenat Aman.

Gambling in India is strictly restricted so making movies on gambling was always challenging but it was highly liked by viewers. Bollywood movies create scenes in such a way which keeps the audience engaged throughout the movie and the main entertainment comes from the characters themselves, how they use mind games to influence their opponents and the audience. This whole drama of how the hero loses in the beginning and then wins in the end, increases the interest level of the audience in Bollywood gambling movies.
