On August 9, 2019, the next-gen Jeep Wrangler will be launched India. While Fiat (parent company) has confirmed the launch, there is still uncertainty on the model coming here. Reports indicate both 5-door Wrangler and 3-door Wrangler Unlimited have been imported here for the homologation process.
With the all-new light underpinnings, the Jeep Wrangler receives prominent visual changes. There is a redesigned grille flanking the LED-equipped headlamps, at the front. The front fender has integrated daytime running lights and it also gets a reworked bumper which completes the front styling. Moving to the side, both the models come with integrated turn signals with newly designed outside rearview mirrors and modish alloy wheels. As for rear-end, it sports newly designed tail-lamp units.
Globally, the new Wrangler will be available with two diesel and two petrol engine options. They are: ● 3.6-litre V6 petrol, 285hp, 353Nm ● 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo-petrol, 270hp, 400Nm ● 2.2-litre 4-cyl turbo-diesel, 197hp, 450Nm ● 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel with 240hp, 570Nm
Changes to the cabin include a reworked dashboard and addition of new techs such as an Uconnect 4C NAV 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and other connectivity bits including Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. Passive keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, etc. are some of the other bits that are offered with it. Power on the 2020 Jeep Wrangler will be drawn by a 3.6-litre V6 naturally aspirated Pentastar engine and the 2.2-litre oil burner both paired to an 8-speed auto unit.
