Sri Lankan cricketer Dhananjaya de Silva quits tournament on Thursday after unidentified gunmen killed his father with a gun after Sri Lanka team left to West Indies, cop stated.

As per the reports, 26-year-old Dhananjaya de Silva’s father Ranjan was attacked in suburb of the capital Colombo, Ratmalana on Thursday. He was a local politician. A probe is in process but no one has been detained yet.
According to cricket representatives, De Silva returned from the tour immediately after the incident. The tournament comprised of three Test matches. Till now, it is not clear that who will replace him.
The team will also miss opener Dimuth Karunaratne as he got his finger fractured in May while he was doing preparations for limited-over matches.

On Thursday, De Silva's friends also had gone to Kalubowila Hospital to see his father. Dhananjaya De Silva clinched hundreds in Delhi recently during the test games. He has participated in 13 Tests and 17 ODIs yet.
