Sushant-Sara Kedarnath movie banned in Uttarakhand, accused of Promoting Love-Jihad

Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput's film Kedarnath have been banned in Uttarakhand. The movie has been released all over the country on December 7. Kedarnath is accused of causing love jihad, insulting God and feelings of Hindus. The priests of Kedarnath temple have also opposed the movie. However on Thursday the Uttarakhand High Court denied the ban on the movie.

The Uttarakhand government has banned the movie in view of maintaining law and order in the state. Recently, BJP had demanded to ban the film. The movie is accused of promoting love jihad. BJP has also objected to the movie tagline and title.

Significantly, the movie was first passed by Uttarakhand CM and Government. But local parties demanded a ban on the film. On Wednesday, the Uttarakhand government formed a committee of 4 members under the chairmanship of BJP leader Satpal Singh Maharaj.

Now giving a statement to ANI, Satpal Maharaj said, "Our committee has sent a recommendation to the CM. It was decided that the law system should be reviewed. We have asked the District Magistrate to maintain peace. Everyone has decided that the Kedarnath film should be banned. The film has become banned everywhere in the state. "
