The first electric bus to start from this city, fare will be only 40 rupees

In collaboration with Tata Motors, electric bus service has started in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh's capital. Tata Motors will supply around 40 electric buses to the Lucknow City Transport Services Ltd (LCTSL) in India in the next 9 months. Tata Electric's first electric bus was flagged off by Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna and this bus would start his journey from Alambagh depot.

The range of buses up to 150 Km

The Ultra 9m AC electric bus built in collaboration with Tata Motors and Tata Marcopolo is capable of traveling 150 kilometers on full charge once. Ultra 9m AC E-buses have used lithium-ion batteries, which are mounted on the roof to prevent breakage due to waterfalls. Integrated electric motor generators have been provided in new electric buses, capable of delivering 330bhp power and delivering power up to 194bhp continuously. The company says that the battery has been used to maintain the temperature within a maximum range, and liquid-cooled is used to ensure long life. In addition, Tata Motors has set up a charging station in Alambagh Depot for fast charging.

On this occasion, Tata Motors - Passenger Commercial Vehicle, Product Line Head, Rohit Shrivastava said "Tata Motors has always been at the forefront of e-mobility development and this order is an example of our best-in-class solution. Tata Motors will supply 255 electric buses to six public transport undertakas including WBTC (West Bengal), LCTSL (Lucknow), AICTSL (Indore), ASTC (Guwahati), J & KSRTC (Jammu) and JCSL (Jaipur). "

Tata Motors's Ultra 9m AC is a 32-seater electric bus and will run from Alamgam terminal on the Virajkhand route of Gomti Nagar. The fare of such distance would be 40 rupees.
