Train 18 to start in September to Promote “Make In India”


India's most-awaited Semi High-speed train, Train 18 can be started in September. This train is being made in Chennai based ICF Integral Coach Factory. Main motive to made this train is to promote "Make In India".This train will be able to travel a distance of 160 kilometers in one hour. Few days ago there were reports that this semi luxury train could be launched in July.

According to news ,ICF General Manager Sudhanshu Mani discussed that there was no delay in the construction of the train. It has been prepared in a record time of 16 months. While it takes two to three years to make such a train in any other country around the world.

Train 18 will not have the engine. It will walk on the lines of Metro trains. Intercity Express trains already existing with this train have to be replaced. The trains to be replaced also included Shatabadi .The ICF will create 6 trains and two of them will consist sleeper coaches.

This train has special care for passenger comfort. In this, all the coaches have been connected with each other through full-fledged gang so that passengers can easily come and go from one coach to another. This is a major feature of it. These are also some of the features:

1. The trains have automatic doors. 2. Convenience of Wi-Fi and Infotainment 3. GPS Based Passenger Information System 4. Modular toilets that are equipped with bio vacuum system 5. Improved couplers that reduce jerk 6. All coaches are equipped with AC Chair Car 8. Space for the wheelchair
