CSK has successfully secured their spot in the IPL 2023 finals after defeating GT in the first quarter final match. On 26th May 2023, in the highly anticipated match played between Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. GT took over the MI with a huge difference of 62 runs and advanced to the IPL 2023 Finals.

In today's 2nd Quarter Final match, MI won the toss and chose to bowl first. GT batted exceptionally well and scored 233 runs in 20 overs with only 3 wickets lost. However, when it was MI's turn to bat, they struggled to keep up and were bowled out in just 18.2 overs with a score of only 171 runs, resulting in a loss to GT.

In the powerplay GT Star performer Shubman Gill and Saha added 54 runs for 38 balls without any wicket loss. Saha scored 18 runs for 16 balls before heading back to the pavilion. Shubman Gill then teamed up with Sai Sudharsan and together they played exceptionally well, adding a whopping 138 runs to the team's score in just 64 balls. Shubman Gill's explosive innings was one for the books as he scored an impressive 129 runs off just 60 balls at a phenomenal strike rate of 215.00. This included seven boundaries and ten fiery sixes, and marked Shubman's third century of the season. It's worth noting that Shubman became the youngest player ever to score a century in the playoffs.

During the match, Sudharsan had to retire hurt at a score of 43 runs. However, Hardik Pandya stepped up with an impressive unbeaten inning, scoring 28 runs off just 13 balls. His performance included two boundaries and two sixers.
