Following their ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, West Indies will host India in a series comprising of two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is. It's worth noting that during the New Zealand tour of India earlier this year, Indian team emerged victorious in a 2-1 win under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya during their last T20I outing.

The T20 World Cup last year marked the end of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's involvement in the shortest format as per team management's signal. As selectors aim to construct a fresh team under Hadik's leadership, they are eyeing the promising players from the Indian Premier League 2023 season to bolster their squad.

Yashavi Jaiswal, the talented opener, showcased his best performance with Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2023. His impressive numbers across domestic cricket tournaments have made him a sought-after player. Recently, he was selected as a reserve opener in India's Test squad for the World Test Championship final (WTC) against Australia due to Ruturaj Gaikwad's absence caused by his wedding.

Rinku Singh's impressive performance in IPL 2023, where he showcased his exceptional finishing skills, led to his rapid rise and established him as one of the most promising talents in domestic cricket. With his outstanding form, it is highly likely that Rinku will earn a national team call for the West Indies tour. Moreover, he is expected to be a part of the T20 World Cup 2024 squad as well.

In IPL 2023, Mohit Sharma showcased his exceptional skills by picking up an impressive 27 wickets. Now, after seven years, he is poised to make a comeback to the national team. This opportunity has arisen as Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are likely to be rested for the West Indies tour, clearing the way for Mohit Sharma to step up.
