The movie shows how Savarkar was a top student in his university and developed the spirit of a reformer at a very early stage in life. Randeep Hooda's Performance

You can’t appreciate Randeep Hooda enough in this movie. Directing the movie and pulling off a role like this is insane, and he is getting the rightful praise for what he has done. The movie’s storyline is also well crafted and keeps us on the edge of the seat till the last minute. You won’t complain about the three-hour duration because the screenplay is really solid. The dialogues were also strong and striking. You can see the audience celebrating the delivery of dialogue in many scenes. Cinematographer Aravind Krishna has done great camera work and elevated many scenes with impressive shots. For most people, the scene in which a conversation occurs between Savarkar and Gandhi has become a fan favourite. Randeep Hooda has crafted the different views of freedom of these two great men in an appreciable way.

Ankita Lokhande’s role

Ankita Lokhande’s role is short, but she has done justice to it. Amit Sial played the role of Vinayak’s brother, and he has nailed it. All the supporting actors have done well, too. The music team and editors have also done an amazing job and elevated the movie to another level.

Final Verdict

Rating: 4/5

There are also points in the movie where you can notice the length of the film, especially in the starting of the second half where they lock up Savarkar in Kaala Paani. The team could have trimmed some 15 minutes out of the movie, but it is still not bad at all.

If you are thinking about watching the movie, go to a theatre near you and enjoy it with other fans. In short, the movie Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is a perfect mix of artistic passion, patriotism and dedication that is worth watching.
